ZTBL has launched the Crop Loan Insurance Scheme (CLIS) as per instructions of the Government/ SBP. The main features of this scheme are listed hereunder.
Terms & Conditions:
Premium | Premium will be charged @ 1.3% (inclusive of all taxes and levies) of loans sanctioned for Rabi and Kharif crops separately. Bank will pay the premium for subsistence farmers and will get reimbursement from the Government on a half-yearly basis. |
Maximum Loan Limit Insured | Rs. 500,000 in an individual case. |
Sum insured | Production loan for agreed crops of each season (Rabi & Kharif) for which premium is paid. |
Crops covered | Wheat, Cotton, Sugarcane, Rice & Maize. |
Perils covered | Excessive rain, Flood, Drought, Hailstorm, Frost, Locust attack, and Insect attack. |
Period of Insurance | From the date of sowing/transplantation to completion of harvesting of the insured crop. |
Compensation | Full compensation will be paid if the insured standing crop is damaged by the perils covered in calamity-notified areas by the Government. |
